Marie Curie & Kei London proudly presents "Elegies in Colour: The Daffodil Collection," an exhibition featuring the compassionate work of our artist, Dangerosa. This collection reimagines classic artworks with a poignant narrative that intertwines the ending of life with the nurturing touch of Marie Curie's nursing team.
Dangerosa, who has previously collaborated with iconic figures such as Damien Hirst, Sir Michael Craig-Martin and Lakwena, brings her dynamic surrealist touch to the profound subject of end-of-life care. Integrating the emblematic daffodil of Marie Curie, these pieces reimagine sombre moments with a promise of care and support, offered by the real-life angels of hospice care.
This one-day exhibition at 56 Conduit Street, Mayfair, unveils four world-famous paintings, including Edvard Munch's 'The Dead Mother and the Child' and 'By the Death Bed'. The original scenes, laden with deep human emotion, are transformed to showcase the end-of-life journey being comforted by the serene presence of Marie Curie's dedicated nurses.
The event serves as a testament to Kei London and Dangerosa's commitment to shedding light on the invaluable services provided by Marie Curie. It's not just an exhibition; it's an ode to the tireless workers who make the last moments of life dignified and peaceful. This artistic endeavour aims to raise awareness and support for the charity, emphasizing the critical need for end-of-life care available to all.
